Obituary of J. Micheel Towner

J. Micheel Towner, known to friends as "Michael", passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He had been in Martin Memorial Hospital being treated for diabetic complications. He has lived in Palm City, FL for 20 years and has been operating as a Realtor through his company J. Michael Towner P.A. under the Brokerage firm Real Estate of Florida in Stuart. Micheel was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1949 and is preceeded in death by his parents Virgil L. Towner and Bette Jensen Towner. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janette Hopkins Taylor, daughter Aria Raphael Towner, stepdaughter Kimberly Taylor Beckler, and sisters Tanya Towner Pfahl and Kristie Towner Kohl.



Micheel grew up in Brecksville Ohio and graduated from University School of Shaker Heights, OH, in 1967. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1971 with degrees in wildlife management and business. Subsequently he moved to Nova Scotia, Canada where he was the Director of Economic Development for the town of Bedford and ultimately Director of The Bedford Waterfront Development before moving to Florida. He was an avid outdoorsman especially hunting and fishing.



He is being cremated at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City. Family gathering is private. Friends who wish to make a memorial contribution in his name are may donate to Ducks Unlimited.
