Jaime Joaquin Illescas Mena, passed away at age 78 on February 22, 12:18 AM in Stuart, Florida, Jaime was a resident of Palm City, Florida.
Jaime was born in Saquisili, Ecuador on November 20 th 1944. He was born to Lucilla Mena Reynoso and Joaquin Illescas, he was the youngest of eight including Medardo and Estella. As a child Jaime went to work on the National Railroads of Ecuador where he discovered his love of electricity and engines. At 17, Jaime immigrated to Chicago where his friends had settled. Four years later his life-long love Martha Noboa Andrade joined him in Chicago and they were married in August of 1964. His love of electricity prompted him to join the International Brotherhood of Electricians local #134 and became a card carrying journeymen for #134 and later local #701. Never forgetting his roots, Jaime was a founding member of the Liga Equatoriana/Ecuadorian League as well as the Colonia Cotopaxi/Cotopaxi Colony.
After starting and running his own successful electrical construction business, J&I Electric in Chicago, Jaime retired to Palm City, FL and dedicated himself to his wife and grandchildren. His greatest achievement was coming to the states with nothing, and living the American Dream. From there his hobbies included travel and he visited the Italy, Spain, France, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Oman, Jordan, Canada, and Peru amongst others. Jaime was a life-long Chicago Bears and Barcelona soccer fan.
Jaime's greatest gift was his family. He is survived by his wife Martha, and his children, David, Kelvin, Janina & Shelly. His grandchildren include Alexander, Olivia, Isabella, Joshua, Sophia, and Bobby.

Burial: Following conclusion of Mass at Forest Hills Cemetery
