On December 11, 2020, Jaime Alfredo Paredes, age 83, completed his earthly mission, returning home to his Father in Heaven.

Jaime was born on June 20, 1937, in Ambato, Ecuador. He grew up in a loving home, next to his parents Luz and Temistocles Paredes and with his older brother Víctor Hugo Paredes.

As a young adult, Jaime left his country to pursue the American Dream, where he worked in many fields, eventually becoming a teacher. At the age of 73, he went back to school to pursue a career in Naturopathic medicine.

Jaime met the love of his life, Clarita Paz, in 1968. The two were married that same year in New York. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Washington D.C. temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1978. They had four children — Abrahan, Katherine, Jacqueline, and Marvin — as well as eight grandchildren.

Jaime was the perfect example of charity throughout his life, as he served as a bishop and patriarch for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He devoted countless hours to ministering to those in need, including his own children and grandchildren.

Jaime was deeply loved by all who met him. He told stories, shared wisdom, played music, loved reading, and made many friends during his time on earth. He'll best be remembered for his impeccable dance moves, contagious smile, funny catch phrases, and devotion to God. Jaime ultimately found the key to happiness and lived it. He knew happiness was found in the simple things of life. He would say that having a positive mindset, developing a sense of humor, and always smiling, are the vitamins of the soul.

While his earthly body is no longer with us, Jaime's spirit still lives on. His love and memories still live because death ends a life, not a relationship.

El 11 de diciembre de 2020, Jaime Alfredo Paredes, de 83 años, completó su misión terrenal y regresó a casa con su Padre Celestial.

Jaime nació el 20 de junio de 1937 en Ambato, Ecuador. Creció en un hogar amoroso, junto a sus padres Luz y Temístocles Paredes y su hermano mayor Víctor Hugo Paredes.

De joven, Jaime dejó su país para perseguir el Sueño Americano, donde realizo varios trabajos hasta que continuo su vocación de profesor. A los 73 anos decidio regresar a estudiar para obtener un titulo en Naturopatia.

Jaime conoció al amor de su vida, Clarita Paz, en 1968; los dos se casaron ese mismo año en Nueva York y su matrimonio fue luego solemnizado en el Templo de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días en Washington D.C. en 1978. Tuvieron cuatro hijos, Abrahan, Katherine, Jacqueline y Marvin, así como ocho nietos.

Jaime fue el ejemplo perfecto de caridad durante toda su vida, ya que se desempeñó como obispo y patriarca de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. Dedicó incontables horas a ministrar a los necesitados, incluidos sus propios hijos y nietos.

Jaime fue profundamente amado por todos los que lo conocieron. Contó historias, compartió sabiduría, tocó música, le encantaba leer e hizo muchos amigos durante su tiempo en la tierra. Será mejor recordado por sus impecables pasos de baile, sonrisa contagiosa, frases divertidas y devoción a Dios. Jaime finalmente encontró la clave de la felicidad y la vivió.
