Obituary of James Bailey
James W. Bailey II, 75, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died April 2, 2011 at his home.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was a resident of the Stuart and Port St. Lucie for 45 years, coming from Michigan.
He was a career airman in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Stuart, Florida Chapter of the DAV. He was the person behind "Candy Cane Lane", a famous Christmas Season display in Stuart at which he played Santa Claus and gave out candy canes to the children.
Survivors include a daughter Vicky Sutton of Port St. Lucie; a son James W. Bailey III of Alabama; sisters, Elizabeth Vroman of Flushing, Michigan; Juanita Balis of Canoga Park, California and Sandra Kuntz of Port St. Lucie; brothers, Richard Bailey of Georgia and Thomas Buchele of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held at 2:30 PM on April 4, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Air Force.
