Obituary of James Elkins

James L. Elkins, 74, of Palm City, FL, died February 6, 2009 at his home.

Born in Beaver, West Virginia, he had lived in Palm City for 12 years coming from Fern Park, FL.



He was a self employed real estate appraiser in Orlando for almost 40 years.

During the Korean War he served in the US Army.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Community Christian Church, Stuart. He was member of the Civitan, FL Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce L. Elkins of Palm City; daughters Debbie Cleaver of Stuart and Sherry Piasecki of Palm City; sisters, Peggy Doolittle of Ohio, Geraldine Sadler of North Carolina and Brenda Elkins of Ohio; a brother James E. Elkins of California and 4 grandchildren.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on February 11, 2009 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel with a service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Holland of Community Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, Florida with military honors provided by the US Army.
