Obituary of James Florian

James Jim D. Florian, 77, of Stuart, passed away February 28, 2007 at Martin Nursing and Restorative Care Center, from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born January 28, 1930 in Lexington, KY. He had been a resident of Stuart for 36 years, after retiring from active military duty. He was retired from the US Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. Upon retiring from the military, he began a second career as a general contractor in Stuart. James was the general contractor on two Easter Houses as well as the House of Refuge restoration. He was a past president of the Treasure Coast Builders Association. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church, and was an ordained Deacon at Salerno Road Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jennie Florian of Stuart; daughter, Linda Wiggins (Hoss) of Stuart; son, James D. Florian Jr. PhD (Ute) of Charleston, SC; brother, Danny Florian of Okeechobee; three grandsons, Jason Wiggins (Cherese), Kevin Wiggins and Jens Florian; two granddaughters, Kay Irons and Lena Florian; and one great grandson, Conner Jason Wiggins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Lynn Irons.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM 10:30 AM, Monday, March 5, 2007 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.

Funeral service will follow immediately at 10:30 AM in the Forest Hills Chapel, with Rev. Winston McNiel, of Springdale Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL, formerly of Salerno Road Baptist, officiating.

Interment will take place in Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart.
