Obituary of James Gadoury
JAMES PAUL GADOURY, age 75, of Palm City, Florida died on August 18, 2008 at Medeira House Hospice in Stuart, Florida surrounded by his family. Mr. Gadoury had been a resident of Florida since 1971 and had resided in Palm City for the last six years.
Mr. Gadoury was a communicant at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where he served on the Hospitality Committee at the 4:00 p.m. mass and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. In 1960 he was named Man of the Year for the northern Rhode Island Catholic Youth Organization (CYO).
Mr. Gadoury was a veteran of the US Army, serving as Sergeant from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He was a Homebuilder throughout South Florida who loved the outdoors. After retirement, he traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada with his family. Mr. Gadoury was an avid gardener who spent many hours tending to a varied collection of orchids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lucille. His son Charles Gadoury of Palm City, FL, daughters; Rachel (Mark) Serre of Ormond Beach, FL, Elaine Magnum and Anne Tuttle of Pensacola, FL, Lucie (Thomas) Ortner of Stuart, FL and Joyce ((Peter) Grant of Collierville, TN. Also surviving is a sister Pauline Patras of Cumberland, RI and eleven beautiful grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 SW Mapp Road, Palm City, FL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL 34990. The family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Martin Unit, 865 SE Monterey Commons Blvd., Stuart, FL 34996 or to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
