Obituary of James Jackson

James C. Jackson, 88, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on February 1, 2014 at the Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, he had been a resident of Martin County, Stuart and Palm City, for. 30 years

He was a veteran of the US Navy.

Jim was in the manufacturing business in Minneapolis, maker of the Cube Steak Machine, which his father, Aldridge Jackson, invented and later sold to the company to Hobart Manufacturing Company. Jim retired and returned to education where he was a Director for Florida Atlantic University for 20 years. Jim volunteered at the Stuart Police Department for 15 years, delighting children as "Mc Guff the Crime Dog" and other various duties.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Jackson of Boca Raton, FL and Kathy Holloway of Coalville, UT and grandsons, Casey Holloway and Trevor Holloway both of Boca Raton. He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn Jackson and a brother Conway Jackson. For those of us who knew him, he was a very kind and giving person.

Services will be private and he will be inurned in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors.
