Obituary of James Mitchell
James A. Mitchell, 89 of Stuart, FL, formerly of Palm City, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Martin Medical Center, Stuart.
Born in Bronxville, NY, he had been a resident of Palm City for 22 years coming from Miami, Florida.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy
Prior to retiring he was a marketing manager with ESSO/EXXON Oil in South America for sales of aviation fuel for 40 years.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and altar server.
Survivors include sons, James A. Mitchell Jr of Jacksonville, FL and Peter J. Mitchell of Tallahassee, FL; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie D. Mitchell in 2004 and two brothers.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on January 11, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
