Obituary of James Rigby
James S. Rigby, 87, of Stuart, passed away May 25, 2008 in Stuart. He was born April 23, 1921 in Racine, Wisconsin. He had been a resident of Florida since 1946, and had lived in Stuart for 8 years, moving from Miami. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, and served during WWII. He was the owner of a furniture manufacturing company in Miami, before retirement. He was an active volunteer for the Jesus House of Hope, and was awarded for his 4,000 hours of service by the Presidents Council on Service & Civic Participation, of the White House.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Libby Rigby of Stuart; his son, James S. Rigby Jr. of Fullerton, CA; one granddaughter; sisters, Maise Anspaugh of Missouri, June Phillips of Colorado, Beverly Stervin, Hope Bertram and Gloria Took all of Wisconsin; and a brother, Lyle Rigby of Wisconsin;. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy and brothers, Lloyd, Matthew and Danny.
A graveside service will be 11:00AM Thursday at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
