Obituary of Janet Campbell

Janet Campbell was born on November 4, 1935 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. She was the eldest of five children to Andrew and Irene Clemendore. She leaves behind four siblings, Lucille, Carlton, Yvonne and Judith.

In 1966, she migrated to the United States with aspirations of becoming a dress designer. She resided in New York where she was introduced to her beloved deceased husband Aldric Campbell. On February 17, 1968 they were married and remained married until his passing in 2007. Janet was a nurturing mother to four children Cheryl, Terrence, Karen and Michelle.

In later years, she became a Mental Health Therapist and worked at the South Beach Psychiatric Center in Bay Ridge for 24 years. In 1996, she retired and began to enjoy residing in both her homes located in Florida and New York. Whenever possible, she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, California, Europe and Jerusalem. In addition, she loved road trips especially to attend Caribana in Toronto, Canada as well as trips to Washington DC, Orlando and Delaware.

During the holidays and special occasions, she loved baking bread with ham, black cake, weddings cakes and a "scrumptious" world famous macaroni pie for her family and close friends. Even though her career path changed, her passion for sewing remained. She would go on to sew her daughters' wedding dress, graduation dresses and even special requests from her daughters' friends. Janet fit in quite well with the current times - she enjoyed watching TV shows like The Bachelor, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and her longtime favorite game show the "Wheel of Fortune".

Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, her children, her children's spouses Richard, Lerry and Joanna, her grandchildren - Kesone, Milan, Adrian, Brianna, Jayden and Jayvis, her grandson's wife - Jennifer Clemondore, her great grandchildren - Carter and Gianna, her in-laws - Stephanie, Vena and Jean and a host of nieces and nephews.

She will also be fondly remembered by her remaining family and friends.
