Jean W. Hartmann, 87, of Palm City, Florida died Wednesday November 16, 2016.

She was born in South Bend, Indiana and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She lived in Bloomfield Township, Michigan for 35 years and moved to the area 25 years ago.

Jean graduated from the University of Michigan Journalism School. She later attended Oakland University and received her Masters Degree in Special Education. She taught for many years in the Avondale, Michigan school district before retiring.

Jean was predeceased by her husband of 59 years. Survivors include her son William L. Hartmann and daughter-in-law Deborah of Beachwood, Ohio, son David J. Hartmann of Palatine, Illinois, three granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law in New York City and Northern New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
