Jeanne Marie Leonard, born October 6, 1942 and died June 17, 2019. She was born in Medford, MA to Anthony and Olga (Bersacola) Barrasso.

Jeanne spent many childhood summers in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

In 1960, she graduated from Medford High School. That same year Jeanne married the love of her life, Charles. The two started their lives together and in 1963 moved to Pepperell, Massachusetts. In 1979, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Education from Fitchburg State College. While in Pepperell, she taught English at Spring St. Jr High School in Nashua, NH. She traveled yearly on school breaks to Cape Cod, Hampton Beach, Kennebunkport, and Winnipesaukee. She chaperoned many summer youth trips to Boston for the symphony, Boston Pops, and Red Sox games at Fenway Park. In 1980 she went to see Pope John Paul II. Jeanne and Charles also hosted a foreign exchange student from Mexico.

In 1984, Jeanne and her family moved to Martin County FL. She taught English at Martin County High School until she retired in 2004. She gave so much of herself to her students, and it was important to her they understood they could do anything to which they put their minds. She made sure her students worked for their success, and was their champion when they succeeded.  In addition, she often tutored and mentored students at Indian River State College. The impact she left, is immeasurable.

Jeanne was a world traveler. She spent many vacations in Europe, visiting England several times. She traveled around Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. One summer, she even attended an in depth course at Shakespeare's Globe Theater in London. Always the adventurer, she participated in an Outward Bound program, sailing the Gulf of Mexico. She has cruised through the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Mississippi River.

The most incredible part about Jeanne, despite living her best life teaching and traveling, was the unconditional and unrelenting love she had for her family. She knew in one car ride, that she would spend her life with Charles. And she did.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles Leonard. Her two daughters, Suzanne Clonan and husband Sean, and Sandra-Jean Leonard. Her 3 grandchildren Timothy Clonan, Cassandra Clonan, and Claudia Spears and husband Jordan. And lastly, her 2 great-grandchildren Kellen Clonan, and Emilyn-Rae Spears.

She will be loved, always.
