Obituary of Jefferson Smoak

Jefferson M. Smoak, 79, of Stuart, Florida, died November 7, 2010 at his daughter's home in Port St. Lucie.

Born in Metter, Georgia, he was a resident of Stuart for 33 years coming from Vero Beach. He came to Florida from his birthplace in 1949.

Before retiring, he was the owner/operator of Jeff's Holiday Gulf/BP gas station in Stuart. He was a long time member of Palm City Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy V. Smoak of Stuart; daughters, Starr Johnson and her husband Allen of Port Salerno and Jill Pickett and her husband, Brett of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Bobby Johnson and his wife Jennifer and Jeff Johnson and his wife Nancy; 2 great grandchildren; Jacob Johnson and Hailey Johnson; sisters, Margarette Patrick of Macon, Georgia, Faye Bishop of Jackson, South Carolina, Pearline Harrison of North Augusta, South Carolina and Nina Lanier of Metter, Georgia and brothers, Steve Smoak of Waycross, Georgia Lamar Smoak of Hinesville, Georgia and Britt Smoak of Swainsboro, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by a sister Nita Belle Smoak.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. November 10, 2010 at Forest Hills Funeral Home - Palm City Chapel with a funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
