Jerry J Casada, 76, of Crossville, TN passed away on Feb 8, 2016 after a year long struggle with cancer.
He was born in Pampa, TX to Delbert and Jo Casada and grew up in Vernal, UT. After graduating from college he joined the US Air Force as a fighter pilot. He flew more than 200 missions over North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Later as a mechanical engineer, he specialized in designing efficient combined-cycle power plants for various industries until retiring in 1995. He maintained a passion for flying and became an avid golfer. He and his wife helped found the Ascension Lutheran Church in Crossville where they remained active members.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne of 37 years, sons David Casada (Ellen, ME), Jay Casada (TX), daughter Jerren Carles (Bill, MT), step sons Terry Reed (Suzanne, TX), Thomas Reed (Holly, WI), step daughters Lori Dormy (Chuck, TN), Lisa Hannah (TX), eleven grand children, and seven great grand children.
Separate memorial services with Military Honors will be held in Crossville TN and Palm City FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 426 Sparta Drive, Crossville, TN 38555.
