Obituary of Joan Hesser

Joan Sebastian (Yeager) Hesser, 93, of Palm City, FL, passed away on May 19, 2015.

Joan was born and raised in Oak Park, IL where she graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1938. She then attended and received her BS degree in Home Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1942 where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Joan married Keehn E Yeager in 1943 and resided in Racine Wisconsin. She was active in the Junior League, served as a hospital volunteer and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Joan especially enjoyed golf and swimming. She was an accomplished seamstress and excelled in cooking; in 1957 she composed a cookbook for the church which was reprinted several times. Keehn retired in 1978 and they moved to Stuart, FL. Keehn died in 1987 and in 1989 she married E. Grant Hesser. They moved to Sandhill Cove in Palm City, FL in 1999 and joined the Palm City Presbyterian Church.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lynn Ludcke of Rodeo, CA and Susan Downs (Donald) of Madison, WI, and daughter-in-law, Eliza Yeager of Steamboat Springs, CO. She is also survived by three step sons, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Joan is preceded in death by her son, Richard Yeager, and her son-in-law, Dennis Ludcke.
