IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan Marie
Martin
October 3, 1931 – December 14, 2025
Joan Marie Martin, 94 years old, passed away peacefully at her home, December 14, 2025, with her children by her side.
Joan was born to the late Jacob Joeph Feger and Florence Anna McLoughlin Feger on October 3, 1931, in The Bronx, New York. Joan attended elementary school at St. Anselms School, and graduated from St. Simon Stock High School in 1949. Joan graduated from Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1952.
Joan married the love of her life, Edward Aloysius Martin, Jr. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church on October 10, 1953, in Forest Hills, New York. Joan and Eddie built their first home in Seaford, New York, where they raised their three children, Edward, Denise and Karen. They lived there next door to life long friends, the Petersen family. The family moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1973, after Edward retired from the Long Island Rail Road. After the passing of her beloved husband, Joan moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 1991, and built the home she would live in for the rest of her life.
Joan lists her greatest accomplishments in life as her three children, marrying her husband, and obtaining her Nursing degree. Joan worked as a Registered Nurse in both New York and Florida.
Joan also loved her fur babies Snuffy, Dusty, and Junior. Joan loved to travel with her family and friends. Joan visited Ireland, England, Hungary, Polland, Czechoslovakia, Greece, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Bahamas, and Alaska.
One of Joan's favorite places growing up was her family's bungalow in Edgewater Park, New York, where she spent happy summers with her Mother, Father, sister Florence, grandmother, Katherine McLoughlin, and many aunts and uncles.
Joan is survived by her children, Edward Martin (Diane), Denise Martin (John), and Karen Martin. Joan is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Kuefner Cowdell (John), Katie Kuefner (Wyatt Whitman), Coty Martin, Ashley Broyles (Kendal), and Tristan Martin. Joan is also survived by her great grandchildren, Lily Cowdell, Alice Whitman, Nova Green and Oaklyn Martin. Joan is also survived by her niece, Carol Tibbotts Call, and special grandchildren, Elizabeth Call and Mackenzie Madison.
Joan wished to be most remembered for loving all her children and family members equally, for having a very good time, a very good life, and a great family. She will forever be dearly missed and cherished by all her loved ones. A life well lived with love.
