Obituary of John Boldis

John Boldis, 85, of Stuart, FL, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. John was born in New York, NY on October 5, 1928 to Michael and Rosalia Boldis. John was a resident of Stuart for over 25 years coming from College Point, NY.



He proudly served in the U.S. Army for four years during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. John was a dedicated employee of the United Nations in New York for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stuart, FL, and VFW Post 10132 in Hobe Sound, FL.



He is survived by his incredibly loving wife of 62 years, Rose Boldis of Stuart, FL; his daughters, Vera Davie and her husband Kenneth of Port St, Lucie, FL; Sonja Nienstedt and her husband Anthony of Sloatsburg, NY; Ellen Boldis of Boston, MA; Linda Pancari and her husband, Matthew of Palm City, FL; his son, John Boldis and his wife Elizabeth of Merrick, NY; the sunshines of his life, his beautiful grandchildren, TJ, Eric, Michael, Allison and Lauren; as well as his sister-in-law, Ellen Gregus and her husband, Rudolph; nieces, cousins and their families, and the countless number of friends throughout the US and Slovakia.



John loved life and was a friend to all. His strong will to live and the enormous love and support of his family and friends carried him through the last years of his life. We will never forget the loyalty he had for those he loved, and he will be missed tremendously.



Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church followed by military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
