Obituary of John Byerly
John F. Byerly, 90, of Stuart, died May 12, 2013 at the St. Lucie Medical Center.
He was born in Irwin, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Stuart for 30 years coming from North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
During the World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
Prior to retiring, he had been a foreman for Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the B.P.O. Elks in Pennsylvania.
Survivors include sons, John E. Byerly of Port St. Lucie, Steven E. Byerly of Anderson, South Carolina, David L. Byerly of Port St. Lucie and Gary B. Byerly of Port St. Lucie of eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lois Byerly in 2012; brothers, George Byerly, William F. Byerly Jr. and Robert L. Byerly and sisters Mary Elizabeth McFarland and Irma Lang.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on May 17, 2013 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. There will be a service at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jarred Olsen of Hope Lutheran Church, Port St. Lucie officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors.
