Obituary of John Clancy
John R. Clancy, 82 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away surrounded with his family on Monday August 4th at the Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Bridgeport, CT he moved to Port St. Lucie 25 years ago from Whitestone, NY.
Prior to retirement he was employed as a school bus driver with the St. Lucie County School System.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Saint James Orthodox Church in Port St. Lucie.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Cemera A. Clancy of Port St. Lucie, a daughter, Katherine DeGraffenreid and her husband James of Port St. Lucie. Three grandchildren, Kristie, Michael and Jacob and a great granddaughter, Mallorie, Several Nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a son, John R. Clancy, Jr., a brother Thomas Clancy and two sisters, Claire Scherer and Patti Turner.
Friends may call at the Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City Chapel on Wednesday, August 6th from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be celebrated at the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 7th at 10;00 a.m.with Fr. Rios of St. James Orthodox Church whom has been a friend of the Clancys for more than 35 years officiating.
Committal will follow at the Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum with Michael Baraes, Thomas Sargent, Michael Allen, Katherine, Jim and Jacob DeGraffenreid serving as pallbearers. Military Honors will be presented by the United States Army.
