Rev. John Joseph DiFiore, SDB, 66, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2017 at Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Born in Yonkers New York, he had been a resident of Stuart for 2 years coming from New Orleans, Louisiana.

He received his BA degree from St. John's University, New York, his MS from Iona College, New York. He did additional post graduate work at FAU. He received his Master of Divinity from the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio. He was ordained on May 31, 1997 in West Palm Beach.

He was currently the Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart. Previously he was youth ministry coordinator at St. Philip Benizi Church, Belle Glade, 2003-2004 and 2014-2015. He was the Pastor of St. Rosalie Church, Harvey, Louisiana, 2010-2014. He also was the youth ministry coordinator at Archbishop Shaw High School, Marrero, Louisiana, 2004-2010 and had been an instructor there from 1997-1998. He taught at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY, 1993-1997 and was the Director of Guidance, 1998-2000. He was the youth ministry coordinator at Savio High School, East Boston, MA, 2000-2003. He had started as a Salesian of Don Bosco in 1990 in Rosemead, California and then taught at Don Bosco Technical High School, 1991-1992 and was the guidance counselor, 1998-2000.

Survivors include his mother, Josephine DiFiore and his brother, Robert DiFiore, both of West Palm Beach; his aunt Dolores Gallo; his uncle, Arnold DiFiore and his wife Rose; his cousins, Chris Gallo and his wife Brenda, Rozi Mohr and her husband Rich, Joseph Gallo and his wife, Gail, Kenneth Gallo, Anthony Gallo and Elizabeth Gallo and his great cousin, Julian.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart, FL with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL.
