John M. Faber, age 93, died peacefully at home on May 15, 2024. He is survived by wife Nancy (Smith) of 69 years, sons John (Lorie) and Ron (Leann), 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
John was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was assigned to the Infantry Division, serving in the 40th Reconnaissance Division along the front lines of Korea.
After returning home, he entered the apprenticeship program for the Outside Electrical Union IBEW Local 126. After graduating top of his class after the apprenticeship program, he went on to serve the union for 36 years as a journeyman lineman. During his tenure with Local 126, he served he union as both the Vice President and Chairman of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee.
John had many interests during his time in Philadelphia, chief among them were watching and coaching his sons at the Bustleton Boys Club, and later at the United German Hungarians.
John and his wife Nancy retired to South Florida in 1993 and spent the next 30 years traveling all over the country. For the past 10 years, their travel primarily was aboard cruises throughout the Caribbean.
John was a kind and humble man who developed many lifetime friendships throughout the years and will be missed by all who knew him.
