Obituary of John Fitzpatrick
John D. "Jack" Fitzpatrick 88 of Stuart, FL passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice Harper House, Stuart.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Anna Fitzpatrick.
Survivors include Therese, Michael, Thomas, Sharon and Susan and grandchildren, Richie, Tina, Ryan, and Steven.
Born in Bellaire, NY he had been a resident of Stuart for 30 years coming from Lindenhurst, NY. He was also a former resident of Brentwood, NY.
He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, FL.
During the World War II he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Cruisers, USS Boston, USS Baltimore and USS Wichita. The Wichita was the first major warship to enter Nagasaki, Japan at the end of the war. He was awarded a Bronze Star, two Battle Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
Before retiring he was the Suffolk County, NY district office manager of customer relations for LILCO for 38 years. He was a Lindenhurst Village Trustee for three years and was past-president and director for both the Bay Shore Lions Club and the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce.
Services are pending at St. Christopher Catholic Church.
