S. John Garofalo, 92, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on July 1, 2020. Born in Middletown, CT, a son of Joseph and Margaret Garofalo.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie;  a son, Joseph, of Palm City, FL; a son, David (Kelly Cooper), of Silver Spring, MD; and his pride and joy grandson, Michael, of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Garofalo held a M.A. degree from the University of Connecticut and served 28 years in the vocational education system of Connecticut, the last eight years as Director of Cheney Technical School, Manchester.

He served in the United States Army with the Occupation Forces in Japan; a Past President of the Manchester Rotary Club; and a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Tolland, CT. He resided in Stuart, FL from 1991-2001 prior to moving to Palm City.

A memorial mass is planned for 10am, September 25 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Treasure Coast Food Bank; Hope Rural School; or Friends of the Martin County Library System.
