John Martin passed away on Wednesday April 14th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the age of 68. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 1976. He lived the majority of his adult life in Jamestown, New York, where he operated Clark Supply Company.
John is survived by his two sons Andrew and Patrick Martin, thier mother Joan Martin, and his sister Maureen (Martin-Best) Vaillancourt, and her husband Robert Vaillancourt. He was also well loved by all of his nieces and nephews; Meghan (Best) Rost , Shannon (Best) Logan, Greg Best, Jerry Redfern, Joanna (Redfern) Rinck, Megan Redfern, and Lori (Redfern) Donavan. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Eunice (Suttner) Martin. John had a big family, a big heart, and shared a lot of love in his life.
John loved singing to Karaoke, running his boat to the Rod & Gun on Lake Chautauqua, and golf. John became a member of Moonbrook Country Club, Jamestown in 1978. After retirement, he was also a regular at Florida courses. John was fueled by joy in others, and wanted his loved ones to be safe and secure. He enjoyed the gift of life to its fullest, becoming a late in life snowbird; escaping the Jamestown winters to the beach and year round golf. John is now walking the 19th hole at Moonbrook Country Club eternally. He will be missed by all he knew.
There will be a Funeral Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 1454 SW Mapp Rd, Palm City Florida 34990 on June 3rd at 10 am ET simulcast on Zoom.
