John Laptu Lam, 68 of Port St. Lucie passed away on the 19 th of December, 2021.  He was Born on October 20 th 1953 to Tho Lam and Noí Nguyen in the city of Nam Dinh, Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Mary Bichdung Nguyen, on the 14 th of April 1976.  He is Survived by his wife, 3 sons: Steve, Pete, and Michael as well as many brothers and sisters from around the world. He is also survived by Pete's long-time girlfriend, Michele Kuchemba, whom he loved as a daughter.

After three years of marriage the family left Vietnam for Hong Kong as they headed for America. They lived in a small apartment in the center of Ridgewood, NJ before purchasing their first home of 32 years in Hawthorne, NJ. His career as a machinist spanned over two decades between Mosstype in Waldwick and Norwolf in Westwood before retiring to Port St. Lucie in 2014.  He was a hard worker and avid tinkerer even after retirement, keeping busy with his home projects and exotic garden.

John enjoyed fishing, singing, dancing, spending time with his dog, Daisy, and traveling around the world with Mary.  John's outwardly friendly and helpful demeanor allowed him to create friends wherever he was. Because of this, he was always surrounded with good loving friends and family and will be greatly missed.
