Obituary of John Matthews
John S. Matthews Sr., 96, of Plantation, Florida, formerly of Palm City, died October 1, 2012 at home.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he had been a resident of Plantation for 4 years coming from Palm City. He came to Florida from Wilmington.
Before retiring he was the owner of Matthews Brothers, an office furniture and stationery business in Wilmington. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.
Survivors include daughters, Veronica Eid of Wilmington, Ruth Ann Juliano of Saratoga, California, Mary Alice Kowalczyk of Benton, Kentucky, Catherine Kenney of Jensen Beach, Florida, Caeli Matthews of Plantation and Maureen Matthews of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a son Paul Matthews of Orlando, Florida; twenty five grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Veronica Matthews; a son, John S. Matthews, Jr. and sisters, Jeanne LeDuc and Shirley Matthews.
Services: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on October 8, 2012 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 11:00 AM followed by interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
