Obituary of John McKay

John K. Mc Kay, 90, of Palm City, Florida, died May 25, 2012 at Waters Edge Nursing, City, Florida.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,on January 7, 1922, he had been a resident of Palm City for a year coming from Hobe Sound. He moved to Florida from Marshalltown, Iowa.

During World War II, he served in the US Navy. He also served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland.

Prior to retiring, he was the president of the R.S. Stover Company in Marshalltown, Iowa where he worked for 30 years.

He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City and a former member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound and St. Henry Catholic Church, Marshalltown, IA. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Elks, Elmwood Country Club, Retired Fisher Controls Agents, Knights of Columbus, Quakerdale Charity Golf Committee, Midwest Gas Association, National Society Engineers, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Jean O'Leary Mc Kay of Palm City; daughters Karen (Loras) Neuroth of Marshalltown, Iowa and Deborah McKay; sons, Dr. John K. "Jack" (Jan) McKay Jr. of Vidalia, GA and Dr. Kevin M. (Elizabeth) McKay of Stuart, Florida; Dutch daughter Grace Eschauzier; four grandchildren (Heather (Travis) Gatlin, Stephanie (Colin) Senuta, Jacquelyn (Andrew) McKay-Lomatchinsky, and Madeline McKay) and three great grandchildren (Ana and Sidney Senuta, and Olivia Gatlin). He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard McKay, James McKay and Thomas McKay.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on May 30, 2012, at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church.
