John R. Thompson (Dick), 84 of Palm City, FL, passed in peace on January 13, 2022.

Dick will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dick was a retired General Contractor . He attended Catholic Church for twenty years and converted to Catholicism in 2021 . He was an avid walker, loved golfing and traveling, especially to Aruba.

Dick was larger than life, he had a radiant and infectious smile that would light up a room. He was a sincere and caring man, who captured the hearts of many. He was most passionate about his family as they were the center of his world.  Dick had a huge heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dick was born in Oxford, MD on August 15, 1937 .

He is predeceased in death by his parent s John and Ethel (Colwell) Thompson Jr. and his brother Robert Thompson, his sister Gertrude Ann and his nephew Allen Willey.

He married Carole Thompson on September 17, 1983 and is survived by his wife and three step-daughters; Kathleen Sheel (Sig), Marilyn Wahl (Joe) and Kim Reyka . He is survived by one sister Betsy Willey (Robert), and his 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM to 9 : 30 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM, at Holy Redeemer Church, 1454 SW Mapp Rd, Palm City, FL.
