John "Jack" Joseph Schoppmeyer, 81, of Hobe Sound, FL passed away on April 7, 2019.

The funeral mass service will be held at 10:00 AM on April 15, 2019 at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church. John Joseph "Jack" Schoppmeyer was born in Bronx, New York. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and received a Bachelor of Education Degree from the Boston College while on a full collegiate athletic scholarship.  He later earned his Master's in higher education from Hofstra University.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Linda Schoppmeyer of 31 years.

Jack worked as an educator at Brentwood Public Schools for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, travelling and all sports. Jack truly led an active life and enjoyed to its fullest.

In his younger years, Jack was actively involved in refereeing basketball, soccer, lacrosse and football. Jack received numerous awards for his skills as a referee.  Additionally, Jack was the Chief Life Guard Examiner at Smith Point National Park. He was also a dedicated and active member of the Boston College Alumni Association.

Jack is survived by his three children, John J. Schoppmeyer his wife Stephanie, Thomas Schoppmeyer and his wife Ronette and Jennifer Ghiz; his 2 grandchildren Emma and Ava; his brother, Leo Schoppmeyer; his Sister, Luanne Dunne and her husband James Dunne and Sister in law Pat Gagliano as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John J. Schoppmeyer and Anna Rose Schoppmeyer; as well as his brother, Richard J Schoppmeyer.
