Obituary of John Suder

John F. (Jack / PopPop) Suder, 90, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 4, 1923 to John J. and Marie Lucas Suder. He had four brothers and two sisters. Only one survives, Mark of Merritt Island, Florida.

Jack proudly served 26 years as a Merchant Marine during WW II, Korea and Vietnam and awarded the Mediterranean-Middle East, Atlantic, and Pacific War Zone Bars, the Vietnam Service Bar, and the Combat Bar for honorable service to his country.

In his civilian life he was a plant supervisor for I.M.C. for 20 years at their mineral and chemical plants in Greenville, Tennessee; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Indiantown, Florida until a well-deserved retirement in 1989.
