Obituary of John Turi
John N. Turi, 89, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died January 23, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Fort Pierce, FL.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for over 23 years, coming from West Babylon, New York.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
Before retiring he had been a produce manager for Bohack Supermarkets in Brooklyn for over 17 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie and had been a member of the American Legion and the Italian American Club.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mae Turi of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Janice Hoover of Sayville, New York and Victoria Fagan of Lyndenhurst, New York; sons, John Turi of San Antonio, Texas and Arthur Turi of Homestead, Florida; sisters, Bernice Pingera of Fort Pierce, FL and Helen Iannatta of Massapequa, New York; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Nicholas Turi and a sister Mary Fortuna

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on January 28, 2013 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a graveside service at 11:00 in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
