Obituary of John Larsen
John W. Larsen, 84, of Stuart, passed away February 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Lafayette, IN, and had been a resident of Stuart for 19 years, having moved from Augusta, GA. He graduated from Monitor High School in Lafayette, IN. He was a retired Lt. Colonel of the U.S. Army after serving 22 years, and was in the Vietnam War. John taught ROTC at Perdue University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Engineering from Purdue University, and his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Augusta State University. He was the Director of Georgia Military College. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart.
John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Larsen; sons, Terry Larsen of New York City, NY and Thomas Neil Larsen (Melanie) of Augusta, GA; daughters, Jeanette Bond of Alamogordo, NM and Pamela Larsen of Big Pine Key, FL; brother, Robert Larsen (Nancy) of Kokomo, IN and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place, 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, with Military Honors by the U.S. Army.
