Joseph Cerulli was born on March 25, 1928, in Union City, New Jersey, and passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 98.
As a young man, Joseph moved to Detroit, Michigan, with his mother, Lucia, and his brother, Nick. Living across the street was Mary Jane, the young woman who would become his wife. They shared 73 happy years of marriage and raised their four children in St. Claire Shores, Michigan, Where they lived for more than 40 years.
Joseph was a proud Korean War veteran. He worked as a salesman for a small wholesale company in Detroit and won several national sales contests. He also gave his time to the children in his community, coaching Little League baseball, leading Boy Scouts, and training altar boys.
Fun, kind, strong, Joseph was a loving husband and father who made a lasting impression on the people he met. He adored Mary Jane, loved visits from family, and enjoyed golf, cards, and Big Ten basketball. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph Cerulli Jr., John Cerulli (Marilyn), and Paul Cerulli (Jennifer); his daughter Andrea Cerulli (David Rapp); his seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa, Nicholas, Matthew, Alexandra, Brandon, and Leah; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane; his mother, Lucia; and his much-loved brother, Nick.
Joseph wanted his family to know how deeply he loved them all. He asked only that they think of him and Mary Jane once in a while and remember the love they shared.
