Obituary of Joseph DeRosa
Joseph R. DeRosa, 66, of Port St. Lucie, died December 21, 2012, at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he had been a resident of the Port St. Lucie for 9 years, having moved from Long Beach, New York.
During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Army.
Before retiring he was a firefighter with the Long Beach, New York Fire Department. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus both in New York and Florida; the VFW in New York and the Long Beach Firefighter Association.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Bernice DeRosa and a son, Peter DeRosa, both of Port St. Lucie
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on December 27, 2012 and from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on December 28, at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on December 29, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Military Honor will be rendered by the U.S. Army.
