Joseph Fulgenzi, 87 of Palm City, Florida passed away on January 26, 2017 at Brookdale Jenson Beach.
Joe was born in the Bronx, New York and lived with his wife Margaret Sanfilippo Fulgenzi in the The Meadows, Palm City for the past 20 years, coming from New Hyde Park, Long Island New York, where they lived for over 25 years.
Joe went to Evander Childs High School and went to college to take up a career in chemistry. He also served in the Korean War as an Army medic in Japan. Joe was an avid supporter of is Italian-American heritage, serving as Venerable President of the Sons of Italian Cellini Lodge #2206 in New Hyde Park, N.Y. There he led many community and charity events, including Italians in America Program highlighting the important roles Italians played during the American Revolution, St Francis Heart Program raising funds to bring 10 needy children to St Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY for open heart surgery, and starting the first Italian-American feast in New Hyde Park celebrating the Town's bicentennial. Joe was also elected to the Sons of Italy Grand Lodge New York State Trustee for Nassau County, Long Island District 2 where we worked closely with Joe Sciame past President of the Sons of Italy Grand Lodge of New York on important causes for the Gift of Life and Drug Abuse committees.
Joe chronicled his life and experiences thru his paintings and sketching.
Joe enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends cooking homemade Italian pizza, pasta and speciality desserts. He and Margaret enjoyed traveling across Florida and to Italy.
Survivors include wife Margaret Sanfilippo Fulgenzi, son Joseph Fulgenzi of New Hyde Park, NY and wife Milena, daughters Celeste Mauro of New Hyde Park and her husband Anthony, and Jennifer Flynn of West Nyack, NY and her husband Kirk, and grandchildren Melissa, Erica, Sabrina, Joseph, Charles and Genevieve.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. Entombment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
