Obituary of Joseph Gallaway
Joseph A. Gallaway, 92, of Stuart, passed away April 21, 2010 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. He was born July 21, 1917 in Pleasantville, Iowa. He had been a resident of Stuart since 1974, having moved from Lake Park, FL. He was retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He served during WWII and the Korean War, and he was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He also worked as a superintendant for 30 years for the City of West Palm Beach. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #366 in Lake Park and the Elks Lodge in Stuart.
He is survived by his daughter, Venita A. Albers of Rocky Point; son, Glenn M. Gallaway of Juno Beach; and grandson, Christopher Gallaway of Juno Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ann Gallaway.
Services were private.
Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel were entrusted with arrangements.
