Joseph A. Leavitt, 74, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on August 17, 2018 at Tradition Medical Center, Port St. Lucie.

Born in San Diego, CA, he had been a resident of Port St, Lucie for 18 years, previous residing in Palm City, FL, New Orleans, LA and Saudi Arabia.

During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Marine Corp for 4 years followed by 17 years of service in the U.S. Navy.

Prior to retiring he had be a non-destructive test technician for Turbo Combustor Technology in Stuart, FL.

Survivors include his wife, Nenita Leavitt, his son, Joseph N. Leavitt, his daughter, Heather Lasher and 3 grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 5 , with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.  Following services family and friends will gather at the Leavitt's residence to share fellowship and memories.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Palm City Chapel .
