Joseph Richard Peppe

February 11, 1943 – October 7, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Joseph Richard Peppe, who went home to the Lord on October 7, 2025, at the age of 82, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully, surrounded by the family he so deeply loved.

Born on February 11, 1943, in New York, Joseph was the beloved husband and best friend of Lorraine (Sarro) Peppe, with whom he shared 61 beautiful years of marriage and over 66 years together - a true testament to the sacredness of love and commitment. Together, they created a life full of laughter, resilience, and a love that touched everyone around them.

Joseph devoted over 20 years of service to Nassau County, New York, before moving to Hobe Sound, Florida in 1982, where he poured his heart into building a successful landscaping business. He had a gift for working with his hands and a deep connection to the earth - nurturing gardens as lovingly as he nurtured those around him.

More than anything, Joseph cherished his family. He was a devoted father to Kim Gaudet and her husband Sonny, and to Elisa Peppe and her fiancé David. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Christopher Martin and Andrew Martin (Katie) and was filled with joy and anticipation for the birth of his first great-grandson.

Joseph had a powerful and unwavering devotion to Saint Jude, the patron saint of hopeless causes. He turned to Saint Jude not only in times of personal need, but also in heartfelt prayer for others.

He was a man who brought laughter and light wherever he went - a kind soul with a heart of gold. Whether he was telling stories, offering a helping hand, or simply being present, Joseph had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph R. Peppe, Jr., who passed away at age seven and whose spirit remained a constant presence in his life. His parents, John (Jack) and Sophia Peppe; and his brothers, John, Anthony, and Thomas Peppe. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a gathering to share stories, food, and fellowship in his memory.

In honor of Joseph's deep faith and lifelong devotion to Saint Jude, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Mary's Home in Stuart, Florida- causes especially close to his heart.

Joseph's memory will live on in every life he touched, in every moment of kindness he gave so freely. Though he has left this earth, his spirit remains with us – a steady presence of love and laughter that will never fade.
