IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joshua
Cherry
October 14, 2001 – November 6, 2023
Josh probably wouldn't have wanted an obituary because that just would not be his style, but here we go anyways.
On November 6, 2023, Joshua "Josh" Ryan Cherry, 22, of Palm City, FL, passed away. Josh loved every moment of life, his friends, his family, and lit up every room he walked into. Josh lived life to its fullest each and every day. A homebody, it sometimes took some convincing for Josh to leave the house unless it involved golf with his friends, the gym with his brother, working with his dad, and knowing he was a great role model for his sister. He loved coming home from work to eat dinner and catch up with his mom from the day. Let's also not forget all the dogs at home- so many dogs- and they loved him, too. And while Austin the dog and Charlie the ferret wanted to hang out with him, he could have done without them both, but always in the most playful way possible. When it came to his energy and spirit, there was simply no challenge that was too much for him to meet. He lived for adventures and anything and everything that gave him a rush of adrenaline. And, this includes sports. Josh made it seem effortless when it came to playing baseball, basketball, or climbing anything in front of him. This might be why Josh also never saw a height too tall he wouldn't jump off of if there was a pool underneath. When his family and friends were in the presence of Josh, they were always greeted with a warm and loving smile combined with a look of mischief - two traits he was a master of pulling off simultaneously. In a way, that smile of his shouted "let's go!". He wanted to conquer all he could including making sure that everyone in his life was as happy as could be. He was kind and good to everyone, and that is what brought him joy.
Josh's boundless love extended to his family, especially to his parents and siblings. He was a pillar of support, an endless source of warmth and compassion, and a beacon of light in their lives. Josh's unwavering dedication to his loved ones was a testament to the depth of his character. He had an extraordinary ability to bring joy to any room he entered, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Whether through his adventurous spirit, his sense of humor, or his genuine care for others, Josh had an unmatched ability to leave an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. But, to him, this was just who he was. Josh never changed or adjusted who he was to appease someone else. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, and never restricted himself to any box someone may have tried to place him in. He led life authentically and when you knew Josh, you truly knew him.
We celebrate a life lived on his terms, filled with compassion and unwavering love. His legacy will forever inspire us to be kinder, more thoughtful, and to embrace each day with the same fearless spirit that defined his existence. In our hearts, Josh's memory will forever shine brightly, a testament to the incredible person he was. His memory will always be for a blessing.
Josh is survived by his mother (Jennifer), father (Jim), sister (Alyssa), brother (Zachary), and countless other family members who loved him dearly. Josh was born on October 14, 2001 in Lakewood, NJ.
