Joy Avis Ball was born on 10/18/1930 in Key West, Florida, where she lived with her mother, grandmother, and cherished uncle Apollo Avila.

Joy graduated from Florida State University and began her career in New York City.

She Later moved to San Francisco, California where she was secretary to the Vice President of Chevron Oil Company. Upon retirement, she settled in Stuart to be near her beloved mother, Isabel Avila Woodward.

Joy was provided loving attention and support by her caregivers Carmen Stanford, Patricia Greene and Victoria Wilks.

Joy lived a very private yet peaceful and happy life. Her kindness, intelligence, and wry sense of humor will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sister, Greer Woodward Sucke, of Kamuela, Hawaii and Nephew John Sucke of Astoria, New York.
