Joyce Jessica
Le Gendre
Feb 18, 1946 — Oct 13, 2020
Port Saint Lucie
Joyce Jessica Le Gendre, 74, of Port St Lucie, Fl, formerly of Brooklyn, New York passed away on October 13, 2020 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.
Joyce devoted her life to caring for others as a preschool teacher, and home health nurse. She served as a spiritual mother and teacher in the church. Retirement was not in her nature. She spent her later years caring for her younger children and grandchildren. She found her true calling being in the midst of her family. She lived by the mantra that you can tell a person's character by their actions and not their words – so always act in good character.
She was a woman of few words. Always giving the last she had to the ones she loved without reservation. She saw the best in everyone and was loved for it.
She was born in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago on February 18,1946. Daughter of the late Andre Lewis Le Gendre and Gladys Prescott. She is survived by her fourteen children, Suzanne Le Gendre, Sherwin Le Gendre, Sherman Le Gendre, Sharlene Le Gendre-Paulin, Sheldon Le Gendre, Natasha Le Gendre, Derma Le Gendre, Onica Le Gendre, Nina Westbrooks, Charlene Le Gendre, Akeilah Le Gendre, Zoriah Le Gendre, Jarelis Le Gendre, and Joel Le Gendre. She is survived by brothers Kenneth Le Gendre, Hollace Le Gendre and Andre Le Gendre and sisters, Gemma Prescott, Joslyn Le Gendre, DiDi Le Gendre, and Paula Le Gendre. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Nayah Le Gendre, Lucca Le Gendre, Christian McMinn, Grant McMinn, Keir Le Gendre, Naomi Le Gendre, Sherwin Le Gendre, Jr., Nesha Le Gendre, Tashanna Valmon, Nicholas Paulin, and Joshua. She leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and great family friends.
