Judy was born April 20, 1942 in Iowa City, IA to Robert and Dorothy Stevens.  She passed away at her home in Palm City,FL on December 21, 2018 at the age of 76.

At Judy's request, her body will be cremated and no services will be held.

Judy graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1964 from the University of Iowa with a major in journalism and minor in political science.  She was a member of the Scottish Highlanders and Alpha Phi sorority.  She received her master's degree from Pace University in New York City.

She worked for AT&T fro twenty years and then for Barrett Business Systems.  She started her own temporary personnel company and had four branches in Maryland.

Judy married Ronald Gabriel in 1974.  They enjoyed sailing and biking.  They sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and rode RAGBRAI.

She is survived by her husband, Ron, Stepchildren Kimberly Spratt of South Bend, IN; Kevin Gabriel of St. Croix; and Nicole Thomas of Indianapolis, IN; sister Shirley Connor of West Des Moines, IA; and two brothers Robert Stevens and James Stevens f Iowa City, IA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City Florida.
