Obituary

Julia Ann Cleaver, lovingly known as Judy, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on June 21, 1935, in Lagro, Indiana, in Wabash County, one of 6 children born to Mark & Ann Devine. Julia lived a life marked by devotion to family, adventure, and community.

At 18 years old, Julia married her high school sweetheart, Harold Cleaver, on December 26, 1953. Their marriage spanned more than 60 years, until Harold's passing in 2014.

Julia was a devoted mother of five children and a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold and her son, Thomas Cleaver.

During Harold's career in the U.S. Air Force and later as a Pan Am pilot, Julia embraced a life of travel, raising their five children while moving across the United States and living abroad for short periods in Australia, Germany, and France. Summers spent with family at Sebago Lake, Maine, became cherished traditions filled with laughter and lasting memories.

In 1981, Julia and Harold moved to Stuart, Florida, where they became members of the Yacht and Country Club of Stuart. Julia enjoyed an active life that included golf, boating, volunteering and a busy social calendar.

Julia also built a highly successful career in real estate in Stuart. Known for her expert local knowledge, professionalism, and warmth, she became one of the area's top agents and helped hundreds of families find their homes, leaving a lasting impact on the community she loved.

Above all, Julia will be remembered by her family as a strong woman, a generous spirit, a wonderful cook, gracious hostess and a fierce card player, always ready to shuffle the deck and gather loved ones around the table. To her friends, she was truly the life of the party - quick with a smile, a laugh, and a welcoming embrace.

The family gratefully welcomes donations made in Julia's honor to Treasure Coast Hospice or St. Jude's .

The family will be having a private gathering Friday, January 30, 2026 at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Yacht and Country Club of Stuart. All who knew and loved Judy are welcome to attend and celebrate a life well lived.
