Obituary of June Callan

June Huley Callan passed away on May 2, 2015 at the age of 92. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 3 daughters, all first generation Americans, of Ukrainian immigrants, Aftanas and Eugenia Huley. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and Miss Dunbar's Secretarial School and worked in the insurance business until her marriage.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and companion of over 70 years, Eugene Joseph Callan, and by her 2 sisters, Evelyn H. Harbourne and Grace H. Fogarty. Surviving family members include her daughter, Christine Callan Thompson (C. Murry Thompson, Jr.) of Mount Pleasant, SC, her son, Geoffrey Eugene Callan (Kay Marie Ruskell) of Towson, MD, 3 granddaughters, Colleen T. Jones, Caroline T. Racanelli and Hannah R. Callan, great grandson, Charles Callan Jones, and several nieces and nephews.

She loved to have fun and reveled in the company of family and dear friends. She especially enjoyed painting, playing golf and her bi weekly bridge games. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Services will be private.
