Justus "Jud" Hunting Beal Jr., 80, of Port St. Lucie, passed away March 22, 2017. He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a familiar voice in Littleton, NH as Al Bates' the morning show host on WLTN-AM for more than 18 years before retirement.

In addition to his long career in radio, "Jud" was an entrepreneur at heart. He turned a part-time vintage movie poster hobby into a full-time business run right out of his home. His life-long passion, however, was movies. From 16mm, to DVD, Jud loved to watch, talk about, and rewatch his movies, a collection of more than 3,000 at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Moriarty Beal of Norwalk, CT; sons, Justus Beal of Port St. Lucie, Scott Beal (Lori) of Winston Salem, NC and Derek Beal of Orlando; grandsons Kyle Beal and Alexander Stone of Vero Beach, Daniel Beal and granddaughter Zoey Beal both of Winston Salem, NC; brother Allen Beal of Tarpon Springs and sisters Janice Manning (Wayne) of Bellows Falls, VT and Nancy Bush of Reno, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justus Beal Sr. and Marjorie Beal.

A memorial service will be held Saturday April 8, 2017 11AM, at St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.
