Obituary of Katherine Rappold

Katherine Miriam Banash Rappold, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, left this world to begin a new life in heaven. She is dancing with the angels as her love of life was dancing. She was full of life for her children and especially her beloved grand children, they were the light of her life. She was the symbol of strength and she raised her children to have her strength.. In knowing our mother, you will have known of her many travels, beginning with living in French Morocco with her husband and not speaking the language, but learning it by walking around with a notebook and making everyone she spoke with write down words and the pronunciation. She was fluent in Polish and French, an d passed the language skills on to her family. Coming to the United Sates after four years in French Morocco, they lived in California and then settled in Orlando. She lived in Orlando until she moved to Stuart where she lived for the last 17 years of her life. Her happiest moments in Stuart were catching fish with her son in the Stuart inlet and having her daughter spending nights when she was working in the area. She always commented that her son in law and daughter in law were her son and daughter. She was the best Mom and MiMi and will be so missed.

She leaves behind her daughter Tichka Slack (John) Longwood, Florida, son Marcel Rappold (Kimberly) Palm City, Florida.

Grandchildren: Marina Ava Rappold, Gabriella Andre Rappold, Cameron Slack Goodwin and her husband Jared, Great GrandDaughter: Madeleine Catherine Goodwin.

She was predeceased by her mother, Josephine Lisek Born in Leipzig ,Poland and her father John Banash, born in Warsaw, Poland; her two sisters Helen Claire McCann and Genevieve Brezina. She is survived by her two remaining sisters, Jay Maxwell of Livermore, California and Estelle McKeone of Bethpage-Long Island, New York and her sister-in-law, Yvette Rappold, New Symrna Beach, Florida. The phone line will be less one caller as these four sisters spoke to each other so many times throughout the day, but our mother will be watching from above and in her own way, will still be a part of all these phone conversations.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12: noon on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
