Obituary of Kathleen Joy

Kathleen Flynn Joy, left this earth to be with her God on June 10, 2015 after a long illness fighting pancreatic cancer. She leaves behind her husband and best friend of 51 years, Charles; son, Brian; daughter, Pamela; grandson, Donald and granddaughter, Alexis.

She was born in New Britain, CT on May 30, 1944. She lived in Southington, CT, was married and had Brian and Pamela, then had the opportunity to come to Palm City in 1971. In 1982 Kathleen and Charles started Joy Communications Inc. She was president of the company which they sold in 2000.

Loving the mountains, they purchased a lakefront summer home on Lake Tansi, Crossville, TN. She loved her summers there. She was an active tennis player and past member of the Stuart, Martin County Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Womens Club. She had many wonderful, loving friends, who will miss her dearly. She is preceded by her father, Linus; mother, Helen; and brother, William. She is survived by brothers, Richard, Robert, and Michael, all of Southington, CT.

In Lieu of Flowers, a donation to a cancer fighting organization is suggested.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 10:00AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Reception to follow service.
