Obituary of Kauko Sirvio

Kauko E. Sirvio, 82, of Lake Worth, passed away March 28, 2008 at the American Finnish Nursing Home in Lake Worth. He was born July 18, 1925 in Finland. He had served in the Finnish Navy during World War II. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1940s to New York. Kauko moved to Stuart 28 years ago from Long Island, and most recently had moved to Lake Worth. He had been a carpenter for most of his life, and was co-owner, along with his wife Sirkka, of the Rams Head gift store in Stuart. He was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Stuart and a member of St. Andrews Lutheran church in Lake Worth. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and the Suomen Merimies Union in Finland.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sirkka Sirvio of Lake Worth; a brother, Kalervo Sirvio of Finland; 2 nieces Hannele Mether of Sweden and Merja Larsman of Stuart; and 2 nephews, Esko and Veli Paavola both of Stuart.

A funeral service will be held, 1:00 PM, April 8, 2008 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, with Pastor Seppo Hartikainen officiating.
