Obituary of Kevin Peters

Kevin J. Peters, 64, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on Friday, December 18, 29015 at his home.

Born in Rockville Center, NY and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 36 years.

He was a U.S Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer (Captain). He was a master electrician for 20 years, .as well as a licensed real estate appraiser.

He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City and had been a Mason. Kevin and his wife were devoted Greyhound rescuers for 25 years, having adopted 7 and fostered as well.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cathleen Peters of Port St. Lucie and his sister, Maryanne Volmer and her husband Lee of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Peters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Refreshments follow at his residence.

I lieu of flowers, memorials in Kevin's name may be made to the Florida organization that adopts greyhounds and trains them before matching them with a wounded serviceman or woman in all branches of service www.AwesomeGreyHoundAdoptions.org and their Hounds and Heroes program.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
